What it does

A calm place for the things you do for fun.

  • Discover

    Browse a catalog of 72 hobbies across 12 categories, from rock climbing to bread making. Recommendations explain, in plain words, why a hobby might suit you. If yours is missing, create your own.

  • Log in one tap

    Home logs a session with a sensible duration from your recent entries, then lets you undo it or add details. A session timer keeps running across restarts.

  • A tracker for each hobby

    Every hobby records what matters to it: distance for running, pages for reading, routes for climbing. Add, rename, reorder or hide fields without losing older entries.

  • Goals, reminders and streaks

    Set a weekly goal in sessions or minutes and an optional reminder scheduled on your phone. Daily streaks forgive a single missed day.

  • Progress you can read

    History and trends for every hobby, with search across your notes and filters by hobby and date.

Private by default

Your diary stays yours.

  • No account needed

    The diary is written to private storage on your phone. Used on its own, Hobbiary makes no network requests and we never receive your records.

  • No ads, no tracking

    There is no advertising, no remote analytics and no profiling from what you write.

  • A backup you own

    Export everything to a single file and keep it wherever you like. Importing shows a preview first, so nothing is applied without your say.

  • Photos stay on the phone

    Attached photos are resized and saved without their original metadata, including location, and are never included in exports.

Levels, XP and streaks measure how you use Hobbiary. They are not a certificate of skill, fitness or safety.

Rooms: meet people who share a hobby.

  • Small, one-off meetups

    A room is a single hobby event for up to ten people, with a public venue label and the exact place shown only to members.

  • Verified adults only

    Rooms need a verified email, a verified phone number and confirmation that you are 18 or over. Signing in is always your choice; the diary works without it.

  • Safety built in

    Text chat can be edited or deleted for 15 minutes and is kept for 30 days. Members can report and block, and reports are reviewed by moderators. Read our safety standards.
